Finally, I've compiled a visual style to upgrade my XP's look.
Like my icons, it doesn't pursue an absolutely new and stunning look, but just a mere tweak for the main interface to allow it to create the impression of something new.
The Vista base is from leosss' MV5505 style (well, with some changes), the shellstyle.dll is based on a work by Spaceqcg, but further enhanced with a graphic from pCgvrtx (Auroralized Aqua)... actually, much of the mentioned stuff must, ultimately, be credited to Microsoft's design team (the source of all Vista like interfaces).
The visual style contains two flavours: Aero and Basic, both with only Normal size fonts.
You'll be disappointed i'm afraid. I dont like it. If i liked this look i would have gone out and bought vista. But I haven't because it is one ugly interface. Massive borders, dodgy looking buttons. Why do it?
really not that bad, on first sight. what about the logoff button, is LS-Patch required to use your style? I hope not. Nice shellstyle! Keep on your creative work!
I GOT VISTA ON MY COMPUTER.....LOOKS GREAT!!! AND SO DOES YOU SKIN!!!! NICE.......................................AS FOR alfiejs YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE ON DEVIANTART SO KEEP RUDE COMMENTS TO YOUR SELF, THANK YOU!

To alfiejs and shimo1989: "Like my icons, it doesn't pursue an absolutely new and stunning look, but just a mere tweak for the main interface to allow it to create the impression of something new." That's why you may think this is boring. My purpose was to port some established Vista features to XP, not to make a whole new interface. Not quite creative, but still somewhat usefull.
To red32: I'm very glad you like this VS and that you've defended my work. I won't take into account the rude comments. Everybody has the right to comment, not everybody deserves to be listened.

Folder Pilot is rather good in mimicking the Vista breadcrumbs, but it keeps the old style look and is shareware. ...
